The Foreign Office has categorically dismissed recent reports claiming the presence of a high-level delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Pakistan. The spokesperson clarified that there is no such visit currently underway, nor are there any planned policy discussions with the IAEA in the near future.
The spokesperson emphasized that any stories regarding the IAEA’s visit to Pakistan are false and termed them as fake news. She specifically mentioned that the last official visit by the IAEA Director General took place in February 2023, during which the Foreign Office provided briefings to the media.
During the 2023 visit, discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology, particularly in fields such as agriculture and medicine, aiming to benefit Pakistan and its neighboring countries.
